I have created this blog to explain how hypnosis, hypnotherapy can be an effective solution towards eliminating fears and phobias, but first let’s examine what phobias are.
What Are Phobias?
Phobias are intense, irrational and involuntary fears of common places, objects, or situations, the “cause” is thought to be known, but often the cause is subconscious. People who live with a phobia know that their fear isn’t natural, but have an incredibly difficult time changing their anxious reaction when confronted by their feared object or situations. Before understanding how hypnosis could change that response lets see what some of basic phobias and symptoms are.
Some Symptoms of Phobias
- feeling dizzy, light headed
- shortness of breath
- pounding heart, increased heartbeat
- pain in chest, tight chest,
Situational phobias are specific situations that can occur when on highways, planes, bridges, during public speaking, or being in enclosed places like elevators.
Natural environment phobias usually involve being outdoors such as in storms, or bodies of water or heights.
Animals/insects, can bring on an intense fears when seeing creatures such as spiders, snakes, and other creepy crawly things.
Blood/injections phobias is the fear of blood and or injections.
How Some Phobias Began
When young we may perceive a threat or danger where none exist because our thinking brain is not completely formed. A fearful emotion is mistakenly attached to the object or situation. Sometimes parents with irrational fears can unintentionally teach children the same fears, The child will most likely learn to interpret any person, place or thing as dangerous if their parent does.

Your Personality and Fears and Phobias
An innate temperate may play a part in irrational fears. Some people have more active imaginations and may well increase worry into personal disasters. Fears may also arise after a sensitive incident, for example, witnessing an accident.
Choice For Hypnosis Remove Phobias and Fears
There are only two inborn fears, the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. All other fears are learned. Because of this they lie in the subconscious mind. Hypnosis has access to the unconscious’ part of the mind where the source of the phobia is stored.
While in a relaxed state of hypnosis the mind allows you to experience a very deep level of relaxation . When this is achieved, the hypnotherapist can help you better understand how the original fear was merely an over reaction of the mind where it misinterpreted the events that led to the original fear. Once internal understanding of the subconscious mind is achieved, it can let go of old, outdated behavioral patterns.
