A human ate palatable food in an MRI test. Dopamine levels were elevated. A few days later, the person was asked to think about the food in the MRI test. Dopamine levels in response to thinking were the same as eating the food.
Combat Food Thoughts
Thought triggers: Our thoughts have power over our behavior. We need to disconnect pleasure thoughts with the behaviors we no longer want to reinforce.
With hypnosis we can transform, ‘That ice cream looks really great; I’ll have just a few bites’ to “I know I can’t have one bite because it will lead to twenty bites” Or, That ice cream is just fat and more fat, I rather have an apple”
